Well it's the last day of March...and what do we have in store? How about 8 inches of snow! Let me tell you, we've got a bunch of people in the Twin Cities that are about to snap. What about me? I say bring it on...it's been years since we've had these huge snow storms...I was feeling really old telling the young ones about the good old days when we had these huge snow storms...
Well, now we've got a story for the next generation...and yet one more opportunity to go outside and play in the snow.

Spring-time snowball fight!
First days of spring...what to do? Mow the lawn? Wash the car? Work the garden? How about build a snow fort and have a snowball fight! Wow...we haven't seen this much snow in a long while. Even though we've got a touch of cabin fever like everyone else, we wouldn't pass up enjoying the snow. We made a huge fort using the recycle bin...the snow was light and fluffy, but stuck together to make some great blocks and snow balls.
Hope all of you had a great holiday weekend!

Bridges of Edina
Here's another great run that we just discovered...it includes a few bridges that help you get across the freeways and into different Edina neighborhoods... Check out the run on mapmyrun.com by clicking below. If you haven't used mapmyrun before, definitely give it a try. It's a great way to map out any routes that you run.

Here are some photos of the bridges that you cross during the run...

Here are some photos of the bridges that you cross during the run...

(above left) This bridge crosses Hwy 62...the north end of the bridge is near the end of Wooddale Ave... (right) and the south end of the bridge takes you to the Lake Cornelia Park

(above left) heading west on 66th Street we cross Hwy 100. (right) as we meander through the neighborhood north of Normandale Park we get to the Wyman Ave bridge

(above left)As we head north and need to cross Hwy 100 once again, we can pick one of three bridges for our run...to shorten up the run we can cross at Benton Ave or (right) there are 2 pedestrian bridges further north...

(above left and right) the pedestrian bridges are kind of cool...the spiral ramp must be fun on a bike!
This is our Bridges of Edina run...a great way to get from neighborhood to neighborhood...if you have any other great runs that you'd like us to share drop us a line and we'll add it to our mapmyrun routes..

Lake Harriet Run
Here's a video of one of our favorite running routes...it's starts in our neighborhood of NE Edina...crosses Minnehaha Creek at Beard Ave...and ends up at Lake Harriet. With a loop around Harriet the whole run is about 7 miles. Since most of your run is in Minneapolis you've got sidewalks to use...and once you get to the lake you've got the paved trail system around the lakes. It's nice not having to drive to the lake for your run...but get there right from your front door.
