Save a tree.
Stop delivery of telephone books!

You can do so by contacting the distributors and letting them know that you'd like to opt-out of the unwanted deliveries.

Even though the books are recyclable you can help the environment even more by stopping the deliveries altogether (Did you know that 85% of all phonebooks in Minnesota are thrown in the trash rather than recycled)...

I called all three of following distributors...the customer service departments were quick and friendly...now let's see if I ever get a phonebook again!

one of the top biking cities in the US. Come along with Bob Pacieznik on his first ride of 2008. Traveling from his home in Edina, we ride up to the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes, then get on the Midtown Greeway which takes us to the Mississippi River. Heading down to the Minnehaha Falls we then follow the Minnehaha Creek back home.

Peddlers and Solicitors Prohibited!

It's spring-time and guess what's taking advantage of the nice weather?

1. the birds
2. the kids
3. us doing yardwork
4. us playing outside
5. PEDDLERS & SOLICITORS!!!
How many times have you been home and someone came up to your front door to sell you something? Boy, it's one thing for a telemarketer to call you at home...with caller id and the National Do Not Call list...we can do a pretty good job of avoiding them...but door to door peddling and solicitation. That hits a little too close to home...like right at our front door!

Well in Edina we've got a few rules governing door to door peddling & solicitation...and one of the best rules is that..."You may not solicit at any residence that displays a placard at the primary entrance to their home, stating “Peddlers and Solicitors Prohibited.”

So put up your sticker today...a keep the peddler and solicitors away!

DANGEROUS: Ice Not Safe!

ICE OUT...Minneapolis means 'city of lakes' and springtime means ice-out. The definition of ice out varies but to those of us who've just come out of 5 months of winter, ice out means swimming, boating and summer are just around the corner. Join Annie and Bob Pacieznik as they take a walk around two of the Minneapolis' Chain of Lakes...Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun and record the sights and sounds of ice-out.

In like a Lion, Out like an Abominable Snowman

Well it's the last day of March...and what do we have in store? How about 8 inches of snow! Let me tell you, we've got a bunch of people in the Twin Cities that are about to snap. What about me? I say bring it on...it's been years since we've had these huge snow storms...I was feeling really old telling the young ones about the good old days when we had these huge snow storms...

Well, now we've got a story for the next generation...and yet one more opportunity to go outside and play in the snow.
